It’s really important that your WordPress site is fast. If it’s slow and clunky, almost certainly you’ll lose visitors. And they may never come back. Here are a few easy ways to speed up your WordPress site:

Use a quality caching plugin

This enables page caching, browser caching and cache preloading. Popular options are WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache and W3 Total Cache.

Don’t load too many images

One or two images are more than enough. Too many not only clutters up sites, but makes sites slow to load. Also use Reduceimages.com to bring images down to normal size, if they are large pixels.

Avoid videos and music downloads

These take up a huge amount of data bandwidth and will slow down sites. And also make them look messy.

Choose a good host

Krystal hosting is a good green host. Bad hosts will trick you with bandwidth limits and also often go down when you have good traffic.

Remove unnecessary plugins

Delete plugins that you don’t need or use, and replace them with nothing at all! Most WordPress sites use far too many plugins which can cause lots of problems. Also keep ones you have updated.

Keep your WordPress theme updated

When you receive an update, do that too. But an important caveat. Sometimes updates have bugs. So wait for a day or two before updating. That way if there is a bug that needs fixing, it’s already fixed by the time you update.

Clean up your site

Simply go through your site and edit things down. Get rid of old images you never use, and merge and delete old posts and pages. Just like a room, clean it up to make the air flow better!
