Vegan tiramisu at Full of Plants
If you eat meat, there is no point sticking your head in the sand, and pretending that promoting meat and dairy foods on your recipe pages are ever going to be as popular again. As we head into the fifth UK heatwave in one summer, it’s evident that the proof of climate change is here. And it’s scary.
The Grantham Institute is very clear about the 9 things we must collectively do to stop climate change becoming irreversible. And one of those is to give up or cut down on meat and dairy foods.
This is because when so many animals are over-bred for the food industry, they give out gas themselves, and the factory farms emit massive emissions, both of which creates greenhouse gases.
Think of the world population – around 9 billion. And with most people eating meat or dairy each day, it’s a huge issue that has to be go into some kind of reversal, to become part of the solution.
Think of this positive (even if you’re a cowboy!)
Any US cowboy ranchers reading this may think it’s all bunkum. But do you want a future of heatwaves and wildfires for your family?
At least look at reducing meat intake. And ensure that any meat eaten is never from factory farms. Better yet, try some plant-based foods.
We also have a massive western world health epidemic, due to the high-cholesterol and saturated fat/salt diets. No plant food has cholesterol. There are even tales abroad of some ranchers letting their animals live out their lives in peace, and switching to growing peach trees!
If you run a foodie website, includes some plant-based recipes. There are plenty of creators out there to to help you. Many let you add an image, as long as you credit back with a link.
The more that people across the web promote plant-based recipe creators, chefs and cookbook authors, the cooler (and kinder) our planet can become.
